In October 2021, the government embarked on an exercise to re-register all mobile phone SIM cards in the country to ensure sanity and security within the mobile telecommunication space.
Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister of Communications and Digitalization, has informed Parliament that over 28 million Mobile SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) cards have been successfully registered since the commencement of registration exercise using the Ghana Card.
Many people continue to mass up at telecommunication centers to register their Subscribers Identity Module (SIM) cards, days after being disconnected by the National Communication Authority (NCA).
