Last week Wednesday, on the 19th of July 2023, the Coding Caravan made its way to the Dawhenya Methodist A & B Basic School, leaving a trail of excitement and learning in its wake. This educational initiative, a joint effort between the Institute of ICT Professionals, Ghana (IIPGH), and the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, seeks to promote Coding education through its coding caravan awareness program.
With 200 eager pupils from various basic schools in the district and 67 enthusiastic teachers in attendance, the training session was brimming with potential. The focus of the workshop was on Coding and 3D Design, essential skills in the rapidly advancing digital landscape.
The event was expertly conducted by IIPGH tutors and dedicated volunteers who had come together to empower the younger generation with digital literacy. Throughout the day, students and teachers alike immersed themselves in the world of coding, discovering its applications and possibilities. The interactive and hands-on approach engaged everyone present, making the learning experience both fun and insightful.
The Coding Caravan's visit to Dawhenya was met with much enthusiasm and support from the local community. School administrators, parents, and government officials praised the initiative for its efforts to equip students and educators with valuable digital skills.
